Download the latest TL for your architecture and OS version from IBM. Store it somewhere in /tmp or /usr/sys/inst.images.
Then create a .toc file
#inutoc <your directory>
this will create .toc file in that directory.
Now, run:
#smitty update_all
(choose the Input Directory to Install)
System reboot is required after the upgrade and check the new TL (oslevel -r)

I am currently running AIX 5.3 technology level 6 on a 570, but want to go up to level 9.
However I am struggling to find on IBM's website the new features that it brings in, along with the commands for these new features.
Can any one help me with this?

Hello
I update one lpar from TL03 to TL06 reboot and check with lppchk -v, errpt and everything looks fine then I commit my fileset and I update to TL08-04.
The installation was ok. I reboot my machine again check with lppchk -v and errpt and its ok, but when I type oslevel -s I get this... (5 Replies)

I am planning to do the Solaris level upgrade from "Solaris 10 1/06 s10s_u1wos_19a" to "Solaris 10 10/09 s10s_u8wos_08a" with 7 Non-global zones on it.....

I currently have 2 servers running AIX 6.1 on them, but the OS level is listed differently in WSM. I am fairly new to AIX and just re-installed the OS on one of the boxes that originally had 5.1 on it. It now shows 6.1.0.0, whereas the other one shows 6.1.3.0. doctools::msgcat::toc::c - Message catalog for the doctoc parser (C)

DESCRIPTION
The package doctools::msgcat::toc::c is a support module providing the C language message catalog for the doctoc parser in the doctools
system version 2. As such it is an internal package a regular user (developer) should not be in direct contact with.

Within the system architecture this package resides under the package doctools::msgcat providing the general message catalog management
