can we use oracle commands in unix for ex: to read a count on a table.

when we are spooling query o/p to certain txt file,in that file how we can get headers in the query.(through unix shell scripting).
for exmple
q1="slect * from XXXXXX;";
sqlplus XXX/XXXX@XXXXX
spool XXXX.txt
$q1
spool off
in the text file i want the headers of the query.....

How do I dynamically assign the below output to unix shell variables
so I can build a menu in a shell script?
Example:
var1 = 1 var2= SYSTEM
var3 = 2 var4= UNDOTBS1
and so on, then in the shell script I can use the variables to build a menu.

I used the below script to get the sql data into csv file using unix scripting.
I m getting the output into an output file but the output file is not displayed in a separe columns .

If anyone is familiar with Oracle, there is a way to trace a file. Then there is is a script called tkprof that will generate a report that includes a rollup of some values. ABORT - abort the current transaction SYNOPSIS
ABORT [ WORK | TRANSACTION ] DESCRIPTION
ABORT rolls back the current transaction and causes all the updates made by the transaction to be discarded. This command is identical in behavior to the standard SQL command ROLLBACK [rollback(7)], and is present only for historical reasons. PARAMETERS
WORK TRANSACTION Optional key words. They have no effect. NOTES
Use COMMIT [commit(7)] to successfully terminate a transaction. Issuing ABORT when not inside a transaction does no harm, but it will provoke a warning message. EXAMPLES
