problem in fibonacci series
hi,
I'm a beginner to UNIX and got some problem in this fibonacci.Please help me out.Here is the code:
fibo()
{
if [ "$1" -gt "1" ]
then
fibo=` expr {fibo ($1 - 2)} + {fibo ($1 - 1)}` | bc
echo $fibo
fi
}
echo "enter a number:"
read x
#echo "The fibonnacci series for value $x is:"
fibo $x
And i'm getting the error as:
ksh fibo.sh
enter a number:
4
fibo.sh[4]: syntax error at line 1 : `(' unexpected
plese help me out.

DESCRIPTION
The echo() function enables Echo mode for the current screen. The noecho() function disables Echo mode for the current screen. Initially,
curses software echo mode is enabled and hardware echo mode of the tty driver is disabled. The echo() and noecho() functions control soft-
ware echo only. Hardware echo must remain disabled for the duration of the application, else the behavior is undefined.
RETURN VALUES
Upon successful completion, these functions return OK. Otherwise, they return ERR.
