Problem in REMOTE DESKTOP INVOCATION
Hello sir,
I am using VNC package for invoking the remote desktop to and from a FEDORA 8 machine and a WINDOWS XP machine. I have downloaded the VNC for both OSs and run it successfully.
1)When I invoked WINDOWS XP server, the I got it successfully as :-
Now I tryed to invoke FEDORA desktop from another FEDORA machine.
I got the desktop as :-
As you can see, I am unable to get the fedora BACKGROUND theme of the desktop invoked.The windows file system icons that are mounted are also not visible !!!
can u please tell me how to get the correct background within the desktop invoked.

We are currently monitoring a server which sometimes does not allow people to login to it using RDP. Though the server is rechable we are not able to remotely login to it. Hence we monitor the connectivity by manualy connecting from our desktop through mstsc in windows.

update-profile-cache - (re)generate profile assignment cache
SYNOPSIS
update-profile-cache
DESCRIPTION
Running this script (re)generates the cache of profile assignments used by desktop-profiles. By default this script is run automatically
once a day by a cron script.
NOTE: No cache of assignments will be generated in cases where cache use isn't supported by desktop-profiles (at the moment caching pro-
file assingments is only supported in the simple case when no group or command requirements are used for activation of profiles,
i.e. when we have a static machine-wide profile assignment).
