Hi,
and what are the messages displayed? Do You have other statements in Your script? Or is it the complete script You showed?
This may be a long shot, but what happens if You put the statements in a script, and then run the script with something like
./script.sh &> /dev/null
??

I am currently working on a program which requires direct its ouput to a file here is an example
./proram arg_1 arg_2
when program ends all output will be arg_2 file
Is that possible I am not a bad programmer, However I am stuck there.
Can anyone give a hint?

Hi,
I would like to list files: ls *.hdf
But I would like a copy of the output directed to the screen, but also APPENDED to a text file: test.txt
I have tried:
ls *.hdf | tee test.txt

NAME
script - make record of a terminal session
SYNOPSIS
script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
NOTES
script places everything that appears on the screen in filename, including prompts.
