bad upgrade to 8.10 and ubuntu doesn't boot afterwards.
at the end of October i upgraded the distro to 8.10 at first it seemed fine until i restarted my machine the boot seqence started i logged in after that nothing? tried booting again and the same thing happened did i do something wrong during the upgrade to 8.10 did everything the computer asked me ?
i ended up wiping my disk and reinstalling 8.04 from a master disk that i burned some time ago everything i had saved before the upgrade was gone after that.
was there something wrong with 8.10?

Both LILO and GRUB are complaining about not being able to write to the boot sector. Is this definitely a problem with the drive or is there another possible problem? I've checked the BIOS and I don't think the problem is there....it's probably the drive.
