I have a bunch of music files that I want to strip the underscores out, and leave only spaces. All that I've found on the web is how to add underscores to files that have spaces, and reversing the "tr" command does not make a difference.
Here is how to convert spaces to underscores:
I am able to strip the underscores by typing:
This gets rid of the underscores, but then there are no spaces in the filename (ex. 01_foo becomes 01foo).
The command to change underscores to spaces still eludes me.
Can you help me, or point me in the right direction...

I am using a Redhat Linux Centos machine and trying to convert multiple spaces in a file to one space. I am using:
sed '/./,/^$/!d' input_file > output_file
I also tried
cat -s
Both gave me no change in the output file.

I neead a script which converts low values to the spaces, When I used

unify - Transforms context diffs into unidiffs, or vice-versa.
-c, --context-diffs
force output to context diffs
-e, --echo-comments
echo comments to standard error
-o, --old-diffs
output old-style diffs, no matter what
-p, --patch-format
generate patch format
-P same as -p
-s, --strip-comments
strip comment lines
-u, --unidiffs
force output to unidiffs
-U same as -p and -u
-=, --use-equals
replace spaces by equal signs in unidiffs
