i am new to unix shell programming.
i found a trouble in executing a script(bali.ksh) which is available on serverA with username xyza, this script contains sqlplus command to retrive the data from the database available on other serverC.

Hi!
I have a script, which calls another script on a remote machine using ssh.
I need to check if the remote running script is succesful. If it is succesful I need to continue the for loop (run it on another machine) or break the loop.

One easy way to to first scp it to remote machine and then run it on remote machine using ssh.
Is there any one step way to do it. Preferably one in which i should give password only once (3 Replies)

Hi there
I have a script which is running a remote command on hundreds of boxes, it takes around 5 minutes to return an output from this command and because i am running this all from a central box, it goes off to each box in my for loop sequentially meaning that my script will wait for output... I want to execute a shell script(set of commands) on remote machine and that script takes input from text file(local machine). Please refer below:

I'm using expect to ssh into remote machine (i know its not the best practice), and run script "script.sh".
This "script.sh" checks whether an other process (some another script) is running and if not, it runs it as some other user.

ssh-ldap-helper -- sshd helper program for ldap support SYNOPSIS
ssh-ldap-helper [-devw] [-f file] [-s user] DESCRIPTION
ssh-ldap-helper is used by sshd(1) to access keys provided by an LDAP. ssh-ldap-helper is disabled by default and can only be enabled in the sshd configuration file /etc/ssh/sshd_config by setting AuthorizedKeysCommand to ``/usr/libexec/openssh/ssh-ldap-wrapper''. ssh-ldap-helper is not intended to be invoked by the user, but from sshd(8) via ssh-ldap-wrapper. The options are as follows: -d Set the debug mode; ssh-ldap-helper prints all logs to stderr instead of syslog. -e Implies -w; ssh-ldap-helper halts if it encounters an unknown item in the ldap.conf file. -f ssh-ldap-helper uses this file as the ldap configuration file instead of /etc/ssh/ldap.conf (default). -s ssh-ldap-helper prints out the user's keys to stdout and exits. -v Implies -d; increases verbosity. -w ssh-ldap-helper writes warnings about unknown items in the ldap.conf configuration file.
