AIX and monitoring tool "SMARTS"
Has anyone here had experience with a product called "SMARTS" from EMC? I am told by the SMARTS admin that he is having trouble gathering SNMP info from these AIX boxes (which are running AIX 5.3.8), because AIX uses SNMPv3 by default. We had to switch it to SNMPv1 just to get SMARTS to "discover" these hosts, but SNMPv1 didn't always give enough info. So we would switch it back to SNMPv3 after discovery. Some hosts gave info, others still did not give all info. (For instance, paging space stats would be missing).
I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and what did you do to resolve it?
