The system I'm working on at the moment doesn't support the -ls option with find. Can you post some lines of the output of your find command?

DESCRIPTION
The hal-find commands, hal-find-by-capability and hal-find-by-property, search the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) device list by speci-
