something is wring in this script ...i am not getting where it is and also want to compress this script.....
please help me do this task......


Hey i got solution for the same & also in compress method

#!/bin/bash

echo -n "Please Enter the username : "
read username

sed '/^audio:/s/$/,$username/' /etc/group > /etc/group1; mv /etc/group1 /etc/group
echo "$username User has been added to audio group"

sed has zeored my files. Help me with sed please

i made a script to update a lot of xml files. to save me some time. Ran it and it replaced all the the files with a 0kb file. posix_getpwnam - Return info about a user by username

SYNOPSIS

       array posix_getpwnam (string  $username)

DESCRIPTION

	Returns an array of information about the given user.

PARAMETERS

	      o $username
		- An alphanumeric username.

RETURN VALUES

	On success an array with the following elements is returned, else FALSE is returned:

       The user information array
