But it does't give anything.
My question is under what condition the "find" condition will fail to find the file?

I'm trying to display the full file name (including the full path) and file size of all files whose name (excluding the path) is longer than 10 characters.

Could you please explain why the result order isn't in reverse time order as it is requestet by "xargs ls -ltr" command (ksh shell)? There are about 5000 files in dir.
$ find . -name "*201010*" -print |xargs ls -ltr |tail

I created a file with the permissions of 776.
When I ran the command find /root/Desktop -perm -644 -type f
The created file shows up as part of the results.
Doesn't -perm -mode mean that for global, only 4(read) and 2(write) can be accepted ? (2 Replies)

dbs-edit-patch is script to generate or modify patches for Debian source-packages in DBS format. WARNING

-h, --help Show summary of options. -t dir, --tmpdir=dir Directory for the temporary files, default is /tmp or if set $TMP. -s dir, --sourcedir=dir Top level directory of the debian-package source-tree, default is the present working directory. -P dir, --sourcepatchdir=dir Directory containing upstream patches. -T dir, --sourcetardir=dir Directory containing the upstream tarball. -p level, --strip=level Striplevel -p of patch (Option -p of diff(1)), accepted values are 0 and 1, default is 0. Technical note: dbs-edit-patch extracts all patches before 021_debian into /tmp/021_debian/heimdal-0.3d, copies the result to /tmp/021_debian/heimdal-0.3d-old, and applies the last patch 021_debian (if it exists).
