I'm using a tree command in a script that for me outputs:-

However a different user is getting the following output:-
aaa (actually with an umlat above them) DIRECTORYNAME

Hi, I have this command:
ls -R | grep ":$" | sed -e 's/:$//' -e 's/*\//--/g' -e 's/^/ /' -e 's/-/|/' Works nicely to show the current file structure as a tree.
I'd like to have it as an alias in '' but doesn't work just like that and I can't fix it with backslashes:
alias tree='?'

However I would like to run it on specific list of directories. Can such a thing be performed?

DESCRIPTION
This command indexes the Torrus configuration objects and builds the search index database. One of the three options --tree, --all or
--global is required.
OPTIONS
--tree=TREE
Build the indexes for a given tree.
--all
Builds the tree indexes for all trees.
--global
Builds the global index for all trees and also the tree indexes for every tree. In order to use the global search database, the web
user should have the permission to display all trees and also it should have the permission for GlobalSearch for all trees, for
example:
torrus acledit --addgroup=staff --permit=GlobalSearch --for='*'
--verbose
Prints extra information
--help
Displays a help message.
