Hi, this is about sorting a very large file (like 10 gb) to keep lines with unique entries across SOME of the columns.
The line originally looked like this:
sort -u -k2,2 -k3,3n -k4,4n -k5,5n -k6,6n file_unsorted > file_sorted
please note the -u flag.

ldm <vt[1-N]> <:[0-N]>
DESCRIPTION ldm(1) starts an X server and presents the user with a login screen, similar to the gdm(1) login prompt. instead of using the XDMCP proto-
col, ldm(1) uses ssh(1) connect to remote servers, then starts an Xsession either via ssh(1) X forwarding, or direct TCP/IP connection.
It was designed for the LTSP project, but could be used in a non-ltsp environment as well.
