problem with the blank spaces in array
Hi all!
i need your help.
I'm getting started with this...
in need to insert in an array string values. But the thing is that this strings have blank spaces...
for example if a want to put "filed1 = " and "field2 = " .... in the array , when i want to print all the fields, it only shows me the first field...
i don't know how to resolve this ... please help me.
fieldGlobal[0]="AS_DB_PWD : "
fieldGlobal[1]="BHC_DB_PWD : "
fieldGlobal[2]="REPPWD="
fieldGlobal[4]="EDTDBPW="
i=0;
while [ ${i} -le ${#fieldGlobal[*]} ]
do
echo "${fieldGlobal[i]}"
let i=$i+1
done

I have a file that has dates like this:
date FINAL_RESULT; 7
date FINAL_RESULT; 2
date FINAL_RESULT; 5
With this command: seira=`cut -f2 -d\; tes.txt` i take the date FINAL RESULTs and i store them on variable seira.then seira look like this: 6 3 8

I am trying to replace a specific column values in a csv file with double quotes when I am find embedded spaces with in the fields.
Example:
SNO,NAME,ZIPCODE,RANK,SEX,ADDRESS
1,Robert,74538,12,34, M,Robert Street, NY

I am trying to remove all tabspaces and all blankspaces from my file using sed & awk, but not getting proper code. Please help me out.
