Hi ust,

find /ora_tmp -type f -mtime -5 -maxdepth 1 | xargs grep -i "error" > $FILE

After this, check the size of the file using test command

if [ -s $FILE ] then
#FILE exists and has a size greater than zero
# To send the mail only once use sort and uniq commands
sort $FILE | uniq >> $mailfile
mail ora-usr@mydomain.com < $mailfile

else
# Do nothing(which means there is no error)
fi

Hope this will give you some idea to proceed!Smilie

Regards,
Chella

Beware that parentheses need to be escaped (e.g., by backslashes) for shells. INTEGER may also be -l STRING, which evaluates to the length of STRING. NOTE: [ honors the --help and --version options, but test does not. test treats each of those as it treats any other nonempty STRING. NOTE: your shell may have its own version of test and/or [, which usually supersedes the version described here. Please refer to your shell's documentation for details about the options it supports.
