Shmmax size
I am currently running SunOS 5.8 Generic_117350-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880.
May you explain to me the use of the parameter and also translate its value. The parameters are set in the /etc/system file.
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=0xffffffff

We currently have an Oracle database running and it is creating lots of processes in the /proc directory that are 1000M in size. The size of the /proc directory is now reading 26T. How can this be if the root file system is only 13GB?
