Are you using the graphical version of scoadmin, or the character version (typing scoadmin at the # prompt)?
I think that all you are doing is expanding and contracting the installation choices, and not actually running the install by clicking on the install button.
Try logging on at the graphical interface <ctrl><Alt><F2>
and selecting Software Manager

DESCRIPTION
