To view all the object files in the archive, i issued the command :
ar -t libxyz.a
which displayed all the object files it contains.
Now, I would like to know the functions in each object file.

Do I need all the shared objects to be present while compiling my code which has reference to a only one shared object, which in turn refers to another shared object.
for example I want to compile example.c which refers to sample.so
sample.so has refrence to anothersample.so

Hi all,
We have some files are under 744 permissions and the the owner is say owner1 and group1.
Now we have another user owner2 of group2, owner2 can remove files of the owner1 and the permission of those files are 744, unix admin told us he did some config at his side so we can do that.

How would I find out who the group openers is of a file? For example:
> ls -l myfile
-rwxr-xr-x 1 myronp hawks 20125 Oct 20 20:50 myfile
How do I return just hawks. I could do this with a series of cut or awk, but is there a more direct way.

ldapfinger - displays a user/machine/group POSIX account's details. SYNOPSIS
ldapfinger [-u|-g|-m][username|machinename|groupname|uid|gid] OPTIONS
[username | machinename | groupname | uid | gid] The name or id of the user, machine (with an ending $) or group you want to display. You may use a wildcard here to look for sub- strings. e.g. 'marty*' or '*mart*'. Acts on current user if nothing is specified. [-u] Look for users only (by default, search the whole directory). [-g] Look for groups only (by default, search the whole directory). [-m] Look for machines only (by default, search the whole directory). SEE ALSO
