Special Forums Windows & DOS: Issues & Discussions Wich one is beter Linux or Windows Post 21050 by auswipe on Thursday 9th of May 2002 11:18:48 AM

That is loaded question which has started many flamewars.

The answer is which OS that gets the job done. I use OpenBSD at the house for firewall/proxy/network monitoring and use FreeBSD for programming and general putting around and Win2K on my primary machine so that I can play games and waste time. My wife and child use Win98 because they get confused by the complexities of Unix.

If you are a MFC programmer, it doesn't make much sense to run Solaris on your box and vice versa.

And yes, it is possible to network Unix and Windows together to share files.
