Autosys Email Alarms
Hello,

I'm kind of new to autosys, but I'm assuming there is a way to have Alarms be emailed instead of having to run jobscape and click the Alarm button to see what jobs have failed? Does anyone have an insight onto how this can be done? Thanks.

Do you have any more info on what Autosys is? I did a google search and the top hit was a CA tool that runs on Windows as were many of the other hits. There were a few others such as a single Solaris hit but that happends to be an install directory.

Sorry, Autosys is a job scheduling tool that we use here at work. Jobscape is the GUI that runs on top of that. When a job fails, currently we need to log into the jobscape and click a button to view all failed jobs. I'd like to make autosys send an email to a certain group when a job fails so we don't always have to be checking jobscape throughout the day.

You could scan the logs periodically and when a failure is generated (assuming it's logged of course), you can shoot off an e-mail then. What system is the app running on?

Yeah, I guess I was more wondering if Autosys itself had any built in support for this. I'll look for the logs and see what I can find. Thanks.

Write a script to e-mail
I have written a script to send the e-mails. To make it work you will need some understanding of the Autosys Database.

You also need read access to Autosys Database.
