find and regexp
i am totally confused now, when I use find command, why it does not take the regular express as filename?

for example, i want to find out anything include word "chapter" in their file names, and i used the below command

find / -name ".*chapter.*"

and the system gives me nothing, although there are quite a few files use that word as part of their file names.

what did i do wrong? thanks

Hi.

It uses normal filename expansion (not regular expressions). Drop the dots...

find / -name "*chapter*"
