Any attempts/ideas/thoughts from your side?
Do you want it to run every other Wednesday during the entire year or e.g. first and third W. in a month? Did you search these fora as similar topics have been covered umpteen times.
Can you please suggest me the script how to do alternate wednesday.
Basically, you run the script every Wednesday, but build some logic, so that its core task is executed only every other Wednesday.
A stateless solution would be to get the week number, returned by
, and perform your task only if it is, say, odd.
The disadvantage is that this logic breaks in general once per year, around New Year.
If you need to have it precisely every second Wednesday, no exceptions allowed, you need to store the state somewhere. For instance, you could store an indicator (say: the string 'executed' or 'skipped') in a file, at the end of your script. At the start of your script, you check the content of this file: If it is 'skipped', you run the script fully (because last time it was skipped). If it is 'executed', you skip the execution of the scripts (because it was executed the previous Wednesday).
Of course, there are also other ways to store the state. This was just an example.
I'm new to utilities like socat and netcat and I'm not clear if they will do what I need.
I have a "compileDeployStartWebServer.sh" script and a "StartBrowser.sh" script that are started by emacs/elisp at the same time in two different processes.
I'm using Cygwin bash on Windows 10.
