I know I can obtain the file names in a folder by doing the following.
ls | awk '{t=$1; print t}'
Rather than print t, I'd like to take the file name as an input to a script like
bash-3.00$ more test.sh
echo "this is a test"
ls -l $1

I have this script
Script.sh:

sed 's,\,,g' input.dat > output .dat
But i want to run it witb different files. So i want the input file as an input argument to the script, how could i do that.
Running it like this:

I have a script which checks on my jobs that run on some cluster.
The script, "script.sh", takes as an input the job-id for the job to checked. Sometimes I have 100s of jobs and I want to check them. I could put these job-ids into a file, each id in its own line.

NAME
script - make record of a terminal session
SYNOPSIS
script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
NOTES
script places everything that appears on the screen in filename, including prompts.
