vi: deleted text not placed in register

vi: deleted text not placed in register
I always thought that deleted text get stacked in the register. Then I can use '<x>p' to undelete, where <x> the number of the nth deletion. But when I try this it seems that only the last delete action get stored. Am I missing some kind of setting?

What is the OS that you are using? It is only the newer versions of vi that hold a number of lines of text. I tried this on my HP vi, and only the last line can be pasted.

I'm on SunOs 5.8.

Sorry, looks like you are stuck with the last delete/last command undo.

Can't register

I tried registering, but no matter what email address I provide, it says not a valid address and not the same in confirm. I tried many times, but no go. I thought I had already registered as Sully but even that didn't like my email address for password info. Of course, that could be someone else... (2 Replies)
