Question Hp-UX 11.23 - CDE not starting

Hi.

I installed HP UX few weeks ago. It had some problems with DNS resolving, but I have solved it.
Before the last shutdown all was fine.

Now CDE is not starting anymore (no desktop logon - only console logon).
Also mail deamon starts for about 5 minutes, so I removed it from rc2.d.
CDE is still not starting.

I don't understand why CDE is not starting, nothing changed. The configuration of computer is the same...

Do you have any idea why CDE is not starting and how to make it work again? In other words, I have no GUI at all.
What services should I put in rc2.d and rc3.d to start the CDE.

P.S. Also, I removed (after CDE was allready not functional) NIS/NIS+ and cim servers and clients.

I found the problem. It is my fault.
Network cable was out.

Anyway, services that I removed form rc*.d made my computer work much faster.

Hi,
Telnet or SSH your server and check your /etc/hosts file. How many entries therein.Just put the hostname entries of your server and try to start GUI.
For GUI login try Reflection X.It is a software running over the network. You can download this software from the following site:-
Terminal Emulation, Legacy Integration, SSH, Systems, Security, and PC Lifecycle Management

Cygwin's XWin also does the trick.
