HI

hdisk is the AIX representation of any directly attached harddisk or LUN while hdiskpower is the peusodo device create by powerpath to provide multiple to the storage

EMC Powerpath

hdiskpower are the EMC powerpath pseudo devices. If you're see hdiskpower on a system then run the command "powermt display dev=all". The result will be a long display showing the relationship between hdisk dvices and hdiskpower devices.
