Check dir for overly path+filename and list in txt
Well since Windows always laments over some of my files having a too long "path+filename" and it gets in the way of copying complete directory structures I would love to have a DOS Script that helps me with finding those.

I already tried DCSoft Long Filename Finder but that is neither DOS based nor does it take the path+filename in account (it only checks the file lenght.

Post some examples of what your referring to.
Since you mention 'windows' are you using "cgywin"?
Are you trying to copy these folder(s)/file(s) from a *nix box to a windows box?

dos imo does not have enough power to actually properly script the long filename issue ... you would have to either go with a vba script or actually code in vc++ or c# ... you might also want to check ruby or perl ...

I'm tempted to try and get something whipped up in powershell and see if it can do something along these lines. I'm currently going through this nightmare after an organisations careless 10 year file organisation has caught up with them.
