on 1 of my old computers I installed pro on it, but no authenticity code. so I installed xp home onto it, so now it's running 2 os's and it's taking up more room
so is there an easier way to unistall it or do I have to reformat the whole computer again?

1st, I dont think this is the correct forum for your question, I expect it will be moved...

However, I'm assuming you have two partitions/harddisks, reformat the XP version your not using. Move all the files you want to keep to the other partition first.

For reformatting, go to 'Run Program' the little box where you can enter a file name you wish to execute (I'm not sure what the english name for this function is).
Type: cmd.exe
Hit ENTER, you'll get a nice DOS-like window.
Now use the 'format' command as appropriate, see: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...us/format.mspx

Something I have picked up over time is don't bother trying to save a version of Windows Also easier and most the time faster to just run a fresh install.

I would suggest save your work, re-format :-)

If each are on separate partitions, just backup your partition you wish to save, use http://Partimage.org and use the RescueCD if your familiar with *nix.
Then reformat the HD, and reinstall the image made. This works well, I've been doing it for a number of years.
If you can not use the *nix tool, Partimage, then a similar tool, such as Nortons Ghost should handle this for you.
