I need to break my admin options to install a program for my company. How do I do that?

I can only speak for myself, but I'm no windows expert.
You may want to try posting this question at a dedicated windows forum and you would want to include the version of the OS and whether there is Novell or a similar software layer.

You may also want to try using google.

By the way, is it against your company policy to break through security measures?

To Dangral

No it is not considering that I am the owner!!! I just am using the server. This is a security measure so that noone can mess with our server.

Even though the original question is vague, do you mean that you're logged in as a "normal" user, and you want to run the program "as" administrator?

If so, right click on the .exe file WHILST holding down right-shift, and you'll get "Run as..." in the context menu, you can then run the program as somebody else.

I would back up what dangral says and reiterate the fact that these are primarily UNIX forums. You'd be better off posting in a Windows oriented forum, as most of us here are UNIX/Linux/BSD techs.

Cheers

as in a windows forum, NOT part of unix.com. its been said before, most of us here work mostly with UNIX. i for one, havent had any need to delve far into windows XP at all, aside from playing DOOM3 until the linux point release comes out. Smilie

one more thing computek, you still havent really read the rules yet. go do that now before posting further, your post right before mine is completely useless and just takes up space. if i moded this section i would have deleted it. another mod will delete it when they see it.
