multi boot XP and W2K - how to change

I had single SATA drive win W2K on it. Then I added another SATA and installed XP on it. Now I have a choice of OS when I boot up my PC.

After I boot into XP it is D: that has XP installed.

I wanted to take and use my 1st disk somewhere else, but quickly learned that I can not boot off of my 2nd disk with XP. Aparently, 1st dsik with W2K got NT loader on it. Is there an easy way to transfer it to 2nd disk with XP? to make it bootable?

There are more issues than just moving the boot loader. Once the W2K drive is removed, D will become C, and XP is installed with D:\Windows as its root.

Do you have to boot with the W2K drive still in place, and change the drive letters in XP (system disk tools) so that D is C and C becomes D. Then shutdown and move the data cable to sata0 on the motherboard.
