I'm currently using G+, I don't use Facebook. At least for now, it's not that bad for sharing professional and not so professional information quickly ...
Google+ is an OK concept but looks like it has failed to make any serious impact. Facebook have massively upgraded their site features in recent times. I haven't logged in to Google+ for ages.
i love facebook..i live facebook..facebook is like my girlfriend whom i love the most..google plus might be more beautiful in future but i do not really care..i love you face book muaaah
Many people find facebook intimidating because of its plush and often useless frills and overcomplication of something which ought to be simple. Nailing even more on the side may not actually help them.
Google+ and Facebook may eventually find separate niches, I think.
I never liked Facebook to begin with, I had a few account back in "Friendster" days but deleted off when MySpace came into the picture. I've switched to good old blogging and recently moved to Google + Never liked Facebook's nonexistent privacy laws. "poke" and "un-friend"? Seriously? Can people get any dumber?!

I start to like Facebook these days for sharing photos of hobbies like diving or boating... I agree that many people use social media incorrectly; but if used correctly, social media can be a real benefit. By correctly (for FB) I mean something like:
Avoid political, religious, and other controversial topics.
Do not spam others.
Do not post information you wish to remain private.
Do not engage in inflammatory discussions or topics.
Do share photos that are non-private in nature.
Do stay connected with friends.
Avoid business topics (unless related to personal hobbies).
