What is on Your Mind?

Sorry to be slighlty off topic, but we produce so many problems on this nice planet, what do we want on the Moon or Mars? Running away is no solution

I felt the same way when I posted about living in the submarine environment.

... it is such a tragedy to see how people have destroyed the marine environment when diving... pollution, dynamite fishing, dragging boat anchors across corals, snorkelers standing on corals, abandoned fish nets in coral, etc. Sometimes I want to cry when underwater, seeing how a perfectly beautiful and healthy coral reef can be destroyed so quickly by illegal fishing techniques.

Yes, this is very sad indeed. If I start to write my thoughts this will get more and more into that direction, off topic heh but I was already tempted to ^^

Guys, you gotta keep your eyes on the prize. Folks (who claim to be experts in such things) say that the Sun will expand into a red giant; and, when that happens, the Earth's orbit will be inside the Sun. (That should mop up our mess pretty quick!) So if you see the Sun expanding and someone offers you a ride to Mars, are you really going to respond, "No thanks, we'd just mess up Mars. So we'll just stay here and fry."?

Hehe, I did not see it from that point of view until yet.
There is not much to mess up on Mars, but though the much later generations could blame us for not having already started to try to level and settle there They might think why did those slackers put so much effort in keeping Earth's eco system alive which will burn away anyway, tsktsk.

actually if the sun expands in a red giant the orbit of the earth could shift and we would not be swallowed by the sun and if we survive it the sun will become a dwarfstar and the earth would become so cold that we cant survive, and then we will all be icecubes :P
