Yesterday I installed PuTTY on my Nokia E61 and was running top on my phone. It was really cool. Then I ran some MySQL tuning scripts to see how the database was doing.
It is comforting to know that I could do an emergency reboot from just about anywhere in the world.
Basic command line tasks worked just fine over GPRS.
This is nice hehe I have
MidpSSH on my Sony Ericsson w810i and since I do some freelance Sys Admin work, I use it to check up on or manage servers when I'm out of town...typing on the keypad is a real pain in the butt but MidpSSH allows me to use macro's so I have the common tasks set up via macro's.
It's also really useful for my personal use because I'm VERY forgetful...so if I'm out of town and I remember that I was supposed to send someone an attachment that exists on my PC at home, I just SSH into my PC via MidpSSH and attach the file and mail it to whoever via a command line script which allows me to send email attachments from gmail.
Pretty useful and often times, a lifesaver
Apart from that, I'm addicted to checking my mail very often. So if I'm out of the house and have no access to a PC, I would probably fire up gmail-mobile on my phone to check my mail every few hours.
