redirecting commands to new xterm
hi,
I need help in redirecting the commands to a new xterm. I have a executable, say my_script and another file called command.list that has several commands.

my_script contents

pwd
xterm -e command.list

I am expecting, all the commands in command.list needs to be executed in the new xterm. But, this is not happening. Will some body can help me?

xterm expects -e to be given an executable file, not just a text list. Try 'xterm -e bash command.list', this will have xterm run bash and bash run the list of commands. Or you could make command.list itself a script file, which in the end would achieve the exact same thing.

Thanks for the reply. It is not working. Just a new terminal is coming and it is getting closed automatically. Please advice
