Installing Database

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this, but I've seen some Linux questions. If not, I'll try somewhere else.

I have Red Hat v8 on my laptop and wanted to install DB2. I downloaded the .tar file, unpacked it and installed DB2. However, it seems that nothing is working - or it's working and I don't know how to use it.

Does anyone have any experience to share or resources to use? I can't find anything helpful on IBM's site or through Google.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Well, how do you know it's not working?
Is it running? Have you started it (or set it up to start on system boot)?

I was logging in with the wrong user. I had not setup my Linux login for access to the database. After logging in as the default user, everything worked fine.
