moving hardisks

when you install solaris on a sun machine the entries in the system device tree (which can be seen by typing show-devs at the OK prompt) would seem to be unique to the hardware. However is it possible to in any circu, stances to take a disk from an ultra 10 and say use it in an ultra 5. Would a reboot -r re-read the system tree and update it. If so would this be enough to enable it to boot or are there other factors that need to be considered. This then begs the question of how the tree is effected if you need to add/remove/replace additional hardware.
