<< booting problem with redhat 8.0 >>

i have the Redhat installed in this Hard Drive and i wanna use it in this old computer of mine.. it works fine in my new computer.. but when i put it in my old one.. which is.. P1 150MHz 32MBramz it wont load the kernal and keeps on restarting the computer.. keeps on goin like this.. i get the GRUB screen whre i can edit comand line and stuff.. so if you know wat can i do.. to get it work in my old computer. .. i'd appreciate it..

because you need to install grub to run the specs for the system you are running it on. YOu can get away with moving a hard drive with an OS installed on it from one P4 to another P4, you can even get away with moving it from a P4 to a P3 sometimes, but moving it from what I'm guessing is a more modern computer to a P1 isnt going to fly. Plus, the boot images may be above the limit that the P1 has for booting from...

I'm guessing your going to have to recompile the kernel on this one, but if its not booting, perhaps you need to do a full install. Smilie
