Question mailx configuration

I would like to configure mailx on Solaris 8 in order to have the sender address shown at the receiver side in the form:
'user@host.domain'
The sender address is currently displayed as 'user@host'

Thanks in advance

What version of sendmail? (You can find out by using
Quote:
$ /usr/lib/sendmail -d0.1 -bt < /dev/null
- this will also let you know of any problems with your set up.

Check your output of the command -
% /usr/lib/sendmail -d0.1 -bt < /dev/null
Version 8.11.6+Sun
Compiled with: LDAPMAP MAP_REGEX LOG MATCHGECOS MIME7TO8 MIME8TO7
NAMED_BIND NDBM NETINET NETINET6 NETUNIX NEWDB NIS NISPLUS
QUEUE SCANF SMTP USERDB XDEBUG

============ SYSTEM IDENTITY (after readcf) ============
(short domain name) $w = ta1sp002
(canonical domain name) $j = ta1sp002.mydomain.com
(subdomain name) $m = mydomain.com
(node name) $k = ta1sp002
========================================================

ADDRESS TEST MODE (ruleset 3 NOT automatically invoked)
Enter <ruleset> <address>

Does it have something in the subdomain name and canonical domain name?

Check your /etc/mail/sendmail.cf file (make a copy first before editing). Look for the DM (who I masquerade as). You could set it or recompile Sendmail and add it into your m4 files ( see Virtual hosting - Sendmail.org FAQ
