Hi There,
I search a lot across the board but didn't find answer... first of all... I installed the Companion CD. So Kde is supposed to work... I ran the script to have it in my login screen, and it's there... but when I enter it, it only kicks me to the login screen once again... if i run startkde in failsafe, it won't give me any "bla bla.so" but only "Kinit not found" and thing like that...

Also... there's no gunzip... is it normal???

A gunzip is probably located on the companion CD. If you don't find it, it is always downloadable from www.sunfreeware.com in pkg form (i.e. no .gz extension). Just copy it to /var/tmp and run
`pkgadd -d/var/tmp/gzip-1.3.5-sol8-intel-local`
