Vi Question

Hi Guys

I have a quick question

I have a file that is approx 1.5 million lines long of which most of the lines start with

Code:
INFO: some info
INFO: some more info
INFO: etc

I want to remove these lines

I was thinking along the lines of

Code:
:%s/INFO*//g

but this does not work

None of the lines to be removed have similar endings (Like a full stop) so

Code:
:%s/INFO*.//g

Cannot be used either

does anyone know how to remove the lines?

Thanks a Bundle
G.

I figured this one out

Code:
grep -vE ^INFO inputfile > outputfile

Cheers

Try this

grep -v INFO: infile > outfile

Try this:

:g/^INFO: .*$/d
