I was wondering if there is some sort of log record that will show all the actions that have been done in a file for Linux.

For example Mark put a client in a file that lists his clients, then by accident Mary deleted him from this file, the problem being Mary is on vacation and can not be reached. So we do not know where this client was? Is there some sort of file action log? If so how would I access this thank you for your help.

No. Your only solution is to restore the file from a backup.
