killing process, from who -uH, at different termnals

in aix, do a who -uH, by seeing the pts/number, we can do a
ps -ef | grep pts/number to see what processes the terminal is running, then how do we kill them?

I may be missing something, but I would assume you use the "kill" command, with the PID as an argument...

If you want to kill the login shell do as LivinFree suggested - kill the PID displayed by the who -uH command as it is the PID for the login shell of that user.

If you want to kill the processes that are being run by that login shell then kill the PID numbers displayed when you grepped for the relevant terminal.

However killing processes like this is not clean, and may be prone to corrupting data should they be running something that is writing to disk.
