hi i went to do a more /dev/smc0

and it shows a READ ERROR.,

what shall i do?

i am running on a AIX 4.3

You can't read device drivers (special files) the same way you read ascii test files.

Also, thedevice connected to it may be disconnected or misconfigured.

For example, if you have a tape drive on /dev/rmt/0, disconnect the drive and dd from the device, you could get an error similar to read/write error or device/address not valid...

Lun remove, stuck in /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk

So, we removed a LUN from the SAN and the system is refusing to remove the references to it in the /dev folder.
