changing scripts in /etc/rc2.d

This is a newbie question in which I feel almost ashamed in asking lol. I am told to make changes to /etc/rc2.d so that only certain scripts run. If I change something like S05netconfig to s05netconfig will it still run? What is the difference between S and s scripts (I see both types in there). I know that K scripts issue a stop command during startup or init 2 phase. Would I just want to change S05netconfig to K05netconfig?

Thanks
Robert

The "official" and so be executed are SXXX and KYYY ...

SXXXexecme will receive at runtime level 2 "start" as argument

Going up a level executes all SXXX of that level

Going down a level (e.g 3 -> 2)
all the KYYYprogs will receive "stop" as argument (and so should stop...)

Does that answer your question?
