Data Password Characteristics

Newbie here...

Is there a website where I can get a listing of all the password characteristics and their locations for Sun Solaris systems?

For example, Maxweeks and Minweeks is found in the /etc/default/password file and are the parameters that define what is the max/min time for users required to change passwords.

I'm looking for specifics on items such as Retries, Miniff, etc.

Any help is appreciated...thanks!

If you have a later version of Sun, you can find many of these answers in the man page for passwd.

Also, the min/max parms you are looking for are arbitrary. It really depends on how long is practical. Usually the min can be as low as 0-7 range for keepign a passwd and for max. I would keep it between 30-60 day range.

I also believe this has been answered before. Try a search of the site for your topic.

If you're looking for where they are stored, use "man shadow".
