deleting a mail from inbox in unix
I want to programatically delete a mail from my inbox(preferrably through perl).
Is there any unix command for the same or do we have some perl modules which can do this job.

Depends if you are hitting a POP3 server or the inbound mail under the Mail or Maildir sub-dir.

delete mail
I am hitting the Maildir sub-dir.

How are you wanting to filter mail that is in the Maildir sub-dir? You should be able to get a list of files waiting in the sub-dir and then check each file and build an array of files to be deleted afterwards.
