I think "nothing works" means he cannot boot..... He already mentioned that he could install, but not boot.

I'm not trying to argue with you, so don't think that, but wouldn't each installation (unless some dual-boot config) overwrite the MBR?

There may be a problem with that sector of the disk, but I still don't think it's a (grub|lilo) problem.

Almost all Linux boot problems are caused by the boot loader. We should not assume anything, we should seek facts.

First of all, we need to determine what bootloader is being used.

Most new Linux users make mistakes when installing the boot image, so before proceeding, it is best to find out what the poster understands about a boot loader, and not assume anything.

The poster is quite clear, and I quote:

Quote:
The instalation runs properly, but when the computer restarts after the instalation, it simply won't boot, like there's no OS installed.
So the focus should be on exactly what the poster knows about the bootloader, for example, which one! Lilo? Grub? What is the config? etc.

Problem solved

I followed the advise of glen.barber and installed fedora on another disk.
Now everything works fine Smilie

I wasn't thinking about the disk, because I already tried another, which was also a bad one Smilie

Thanks for the help!
