FTP'ing EBCDIC Characters from Mainframe
Hi All,

I am new to this site, I have a requirement where in i have to FTP a file from mainframe to Unix box.

The catch here is there are few Spanish characters like N with tilde(~) and a with ` etc., all other characters are coming fine but those mentioned above are not coming in a proper way.

Can any one help me out in resolving this.

Any suggestions are greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Sounds like not an EBCDIC problem, but what do I know. There are different versions of EBCDIC so maybe that's the catch here. What component exactly is taking care of the EBCDIC to ASCII conversion at the moment, is it the FTP server on the mainframe or the FTP client on the Unix box? Is there a way to transfer the files as raw EBCDIC and convert them on the Unix side?
