I am getting fatal error or core dump by using this command "_exit(-1)". I need to terminate the program at a certain condition, but continous calling of this exit function, I am getting core dump. Is there any other command can be used to avoid the core dump ??

Why are you using _exit() instead of exit()? Why are you trying to return an exit status of -1 instead of a positive number? Why are you continiously calling _exit()?

Start by using a reasonable value for exit: 0....127. google for 'sysexit.h'

exit returns the LSB (lowest 8 bits) of the argument.

If I will use simply exit() also, I am getting the core dump. The problem is, there is a few second difference inbetween the processes were killed by 'exit' function and then restarted by another process. And by this time, if any input hit this server, it gives core dump. I used threading and then too, this did not work out. I want the input values to wait for some time or something same before the process get restarted again. Please let me know if you need anymore information.
